Visualize Odoo project tasks, predecessors, resources, and scheduling on one unified Gantt timeline. Critical path, calendars, constraints — all native, all integrated.
What this module does
project_native brings the Native Gantt view to Odoo's standard Project module. Every project, task, milestone, predecessor link, resource assignment, and timesheet record can be visualized, edited, and scheduled on a unified Gantt timeline — without leaving Odoo.
Unlike standard Odoo project views (list, kanban, calendar), the Gantt simultaneously shows:
- When each task starts and ends (timeline with sub-day to quarterly zoom)
- Why tasks are scheduled there (predecessor arrows, constraints, calendars)
- Who is doing what (resource bars, load panels, histograms)
- Whether the schedule is feasible (critical path, loop detection, overload warnings)
- How much is done (timesheet ghost bars, deadline indicators, completion markers)
The module is a pure adapter on top of project.task and project.project — no new tables, no schema migrations. Existing projects work immediately after install. Edit a task in the form view or in the Gantt — both stay in sync.
Requires web_gantt_native (the paid Gantt UI framework, €299.00 one-time covers this module and all other companions). Free to use once the base module is licensed.

Critical Path Computation
Identify the longest dependency chain in your project — the tasks that directly drive the end date. Rescheduling logic recomputes the critical path automatically; bars on the chain are visually distinct.
Resource Load & Histogram
Per-resource timeline shows who is allocated where. Overload conditions are visually flagged. Drill into any resource's histogram to see daily capacity vs assigned work.
Forward / Backward Scheduling
Schedule from the project start (Forward, ASAP) or from the deadline backwards (Backward, ALAP — As Late As Possible). Per-task constraints — Manual, Auto, Must Start On, As Late As Possible — control individual flexibility.

Drag & Drop Link Creation
Animated demo — drag from one task bar to another to create a predecessor link. Fastest way to map dependencies without leaving the Gantt.
Delete Links via Hover Menu
Animated demo — hover any dependency arrow, click the delete icon. Two clicks to remove an unwanted predecessor connection.
Working Calendars & Global Leaves
Per-resource working calendars (8h day, 6h day, custom). Company-wide Global Leaves (holidays) and Extra Working Time exceptions are honored by the scheduler.
Predecessor Link Types
Finish-to-Start (FS), Start-to-Start (SS), Finish-to-Finish (FF), Start-to-Finish (SF) — all four standard predecessor link types with optional lag / lead time per link.
WBS Column
Hierarchical work breakdown structure numbering (1, 1.1, 1.2.1, ...) rendered as a dedicated grid column. Toggle on / off via the Options panel.
ISO Week Display
Switch between standard week (Mon-Sun) and ISO week display modes. ISO weeks help with weekly reporting and shift planning across regions.
Inline Rename
Click a task name on the Gantt bar and edit in place. No popup, no form switch. Press Enter to save, Esc to cancel.
Folding & Fold State Memory
Expand / collapse any task group with one click. Fold state persists across sessions — open the project tomorrow, find it exactly as you left it.
Deadline Indicators
Vertical slider on each task bar shows the target deadline. Tasks running past deadline are visually flagged.
Done Marker & Ghost Bars
Completed tasks show a check-circle. Ghost bars overlay timesheet records on top of planned bars — actual vs planned time at a glance.
Add Task / Subtask Inline
Per-row plus icon creates a subtask without leaving the Gantt. Choose parent from the same row, fill name, save — back to the timeline.
Group Predecessor Warning
Trying to link a predecessor to a group node? System warns and prevents the action — only leaf tasks can have dependencies, keeps the graph valid.
Duration Scale Humanization
"32 hours" renders as "1 day 4 hours" using calendar-aware humanization. Users see durations in working-time units, not raw hour counts.
Attachments on Gantt
Tasks with attached files (specifications, drawings, PDFs) show a paperclip icon directly on the Gantt bar. Click to open the attachment list.
