The Hotel Front Desk module is the central operational hub of the Hotel Management System, defined by its highly visual, calendar-based interface that provides a real-time overview of the entire room inventory and occupancy schedule. This module allows front desk staff to efficiently manage daily arrivals, departures, and walk-ins by offering a color-coded scheduler (Gantt chart) grouped by room types (e.g., Single Room, Villa) and specific room numbers. Its primary purpose is to facilitate quick booking creation, modification (dragging/dropping reservations), check-in/check-out processing, and immediate access to reservation details and folios, ensuring smooth, error-free management of guest stays across selectable Day, Week, and Month views.

This is the most crucial feature. It provides a highly intuitive, color-coded Gantt chart display of the entire room inventory against a date axis, allowing staff to instantly visualize room availability, booked periods, and guest names across Day, Week, or Month views.
Room Type & Unit Grouping
The clear categorization of rooms (e.g., SINGLE ROOM, VILLA) alongside individual unit numbers enables highly organized and error-resistant inventory management and faster room allocation.
Real-Time Status & Action Buttons
The module integrates immediate operational status indicators (Folio, Reserved, Check out), enabling staff to quickly access guest details, update reservation status, and process critical check-in/check-out actions directly from the main screen.
Interactive Room Occupancy Timeline (Visual Booking Engine)
Front desk personnel have the capability to effortlessly modify check-in and check-out dates by simply dragging and adjusting the ends of the reservation block on their interface. Additionally, if they need to relocate an entire booking to a different room, they can do so with ease by dragging the block vertically to the desired location. To enhance their planning and scheduling efficiency, the system offers three time-view options: Day, Week, and Month. This feature enables staff to zoom in for a detailed view of daily operations or zoom out for a broader perspective on future bookings and availability, facilitating better management of the hotel’s resources and guest accommodations.
Categorized Inventory Management with Unit Specificity
This hierarchy ensures efficient inventory control. When taking a reservation, staff can immediately see which specific room within a category is available. The visual grouping also highlights overall occupancy rates for premium room types (like VILLA), aiding in dynamic pricing decisions and upselling opportunities.
Integrated Status & Quick Action Interface
Clicking on a reservation block or a status button likely triggers a specific workflow. For instance, clicking a "Reserved" block might open a pre-arrival checklist, while clicking "Check out" initiates the final bill settlement and updates the room status to vacant, streamlining the entire guest lifecycle without needing to navigate to separate screens.
