1 - File & Folder Management.

Folder Navigation: Browse folders in a tree view, expand/collapse subfolders, and view file lists in the main panel.
Manual Subfolder Creation: Right-click a folder → Add folder → Name it → (Optional) set allowed Groups/Users.
Manual Restructuring: Move folders into another folder (with permission checks).
Upload Files: Upload directly into a selected folder; if synced, files are uploaded to the cloud instantly.
Quick Open Synced File in Cloud: Click cloud link on file card → open file in cloud client.
Single File Download: Click download icon → file is downloaded (works for both synced and unsynced).
Bulk Delete: Tick files → Delete → Confirm (also delete on cloud).
Move Files Between Folders / Objects: Select file(s) → Move → Choose Target Folder/Object (e.g., move from SO-001 to Customer) → Confirm.
Search Attachments: Left-side Search panel can be used to traverse the files/folders directory

2 - Sync Models and their attachments to folders

Folder Link per Record: Open object form → Attachment Box shows linked folder → choose subfolder in mini panel → file list updates to selected subfolder.

3 - Cloud Storage Synchronization

Sync Modes: Support direct sync (Odoo → Cloud), backward sync (Cloud → Odoo), and reverse sync/change client. Changes in folders and files are pushed or pulled accordingly, with attachments converted to URL links in Odoo and binaries cleaned when synced.

1. Setup Cloud Connections

Refer to the specific extension module that supports each cloud storage system
  • Google Drive: windx_cloud_ggdrive

2. Organize Folders & Files

Use Cloud Storage Folder to navigate, create, move, and manage folders.
Go to Cloud Storage → Storages, select a Root Folder; the folder tree is on the left, files list in the center.
Browse folders: Click a folder in the tree to display its contents in the center pane.
Expand/collapse: Click on a parent folder to show or hide subfolders.
Create subfolders (manual): Right-click a folder → Add folder → Name it → (Optional) set allowed Groups/Users.
Move and restructure folders: Select file(s) → Move → Choose Target Folder/Object (e.g., move from SO-001 to Customer) → Confirm.
Manage Files:
  • Download single file: Click Download on the file; it downloads regardless of sync status.
  • Delete files: Select files → Delete → Confirm to remove them.
  • Open in cloud (file): On a synced file’s card, click the cloud link to open it in the cloud client.
Upload files and cloud sync: Open destination folder: In Cloud storage folders, click the folder where you want to upload.
Start upload: Click Upload file (or Add attachments in the object’s Attachment Box).
Choose files: Select one or more files from your computer → Open.
  • Verify appearance: Uploaded files appear in the center file list.
  • Automatic cloud push: If the folder is synced, files are queued and pushed to the cloud automatically during the next sync run.
  • Open in cloud (folder): Right‑click the synced folder → Open in clouds to verify the files in the cloud client.
  • Check link conversion: After direct sync, attachments in Odoo convert to URL type; binaries are cleaned from the server by the cleaner.

3. Link Folders to Objects

  • In an object’s form view, use the Attachment Box to view and manage linked folders/subfolders.
  • Select the file you want to link then click detail -> automated data -> tick check box to create sub folders -> select model you want to link -> save
The system will automatically update and arrange folders according to model.
After successful connection, the system will save the files in the linked model to the cloud. Go to linked model -> open record -> assign attachment -> click upload cloud
Then select cloud storage: drive -> confirm -> upload to cloud successfully

This module allows users to organize, upload, manage, and sync files and folders within Odoo. It supports manual folder creation, directory restructuring, cloud integration, and attachment linking to business objects.

Select the target folder in Cloud storage -> Click Upload file -> Choose the file from your device → click Open -> The file will appear in the folder. If the folder is synced, the file will be automatically pushed to the cloud.

Any changes in Odoo (file uploads, folder creation, renaming, deletion) are automatically synced to the linked cloud (Google Drive, OneDrive, etc.).

Select the file → click Move → choose the target folder → click Confirm.
