1 - Instant Message Notification

Get instant pop-up alerts when a customer sends a new WhatsApp message. New customers are automatically created as Contacts and CRM Leads — saving time and ensuring no lead is missed.

2 - Chat Box Display

Click on the notification to open the chat box instantly. View full conversation and reply directly without switching screens.

3 - Centralized Discuss View

All WhatsApp messages are displayed in one central view. Admins see all chats, while users only view their assigned conversations - ensuring privacy and efficiency.

4 - Convert CRM to Project or Tasks

When a lead is marked as “WON”, two options appear: To Project: open the related project overview. To Tasks: view all tasks in the project Kanban board - enabling smooth handover from sales to execution.

1. Get basic information for Sending Message

1.1. Go to Meta Developer (developer.facebook.com), open the App connected to WhatsApp → App Settings → Basic.
Copy the App ID and App Secret.
1.2. Navigate to Use Case → Customize (Connect to WhatsApp) → API Setup.
Copy the App ID and App Secret.
Copy the Phone Number ID and WhatsApp Business Account ID.
Generate an Access Token using the Generate access token button.
1.3. Enter the five required fields in Odoo and click Test Connection.
If successful, the system displays a confirmation message and automatically creates a new contact.

2. Configure Webhook

2.1. In Odoo, enter the Webhook Endpoint and generate the Callback URL, then enter the Webhook Verify Token.
Go to Use Case → Customize (Connect to WhatsApp) → Configuration.
Enter the Callback URL and Verify Token, then click Verify and Save.
2.3. Re-enter any missing information if required and save again.
2.4. Under Webhook event selection, enable:
  • account_update
  • messages (v23)

3. Assign Permissions

Grant the appropriate users the rights to manage, view, and send messages using the newly created contact.

4. Receive Incoming Message Notifications

When a customer sends a new WhatsApp message: The system displays a popup notification.
If the customer contacts the business for the first time, the system automatically creates a new Contact in CRM.

5. View Chat Content

When the user clicks the incoming message notification, a chat box opens.
  • The interface displays the full conversation history between the customer and the business.
  • Users can reply directly within this chat box.

6. Manage All Conversations in WhatsApp Menu

All incoming WhatsApp conversations are listed under Menu → WhatsApp.
  • Admin can view all conversations.
  • Sales Users can only view conversations assigned to them.

7. Convert CRM to Project or Tasks

When a CRM Lead moves to the “WON” stage:
Two new action buttons appear: To Project and To Tasks.
To Project: Opens the detailed Project view created from that Lead (with the option to return to the CRM form).
To Tasks: Opens the Project’s kanban view showing all tasks under that project.

Can this module receive WhatsApp messages in real-time?

Yes. The system instantly shows a popup notification when a new message arrives and automatically creates a Contact and CRM Lead if it’s the customer’s first message.

Does the system automatically create a contact for first-time WhatsApp customers?

Yes. When a new customer sends a message, the system auto-creates a Contact record in CRM.

Where can I manage all WhatsApp conversations?

All conversations are available in Menu → WhatsApp. Admins can view all chats, while Sales Users only see conversations assigned to them.

Does this module support file attachments?

Absolutely. You can send and receive PDF files via WhatsApp; the system also supports file preview and download directly within Odoo.

What happens when a CRM Lead is marked as “WON”?

The system displays two action buttons - “To Project” and “To Tasks” - allowing users to instantly create or open the related project or task view.
