In Inventory Settings, you can access the SKU generation configuration. First, you need to enable “Use Custom SKU Configuration”, and then select the components you want to include in the SKU—such as product name, category, attribute, or company and product id. You can also define how many words and letters to consider for each component, ensuring the SKU is structured exactly as needed.

You can manage when SKUs are generated. If “On Create” is selected, the SKU is created when a product or product varient is created. If “On Update” is selected, the SKU is updated whenever the product name, category, or company changes. You can also use the manual button to generate SKUs for multiple products at once. Additionally, you can choose the SKU format according to the order you set, allowing sequential generation. You can configure up to 16 different product components, select the separator you want to use, and generate SKUs in uppercase or lowercase.

Now you can see new product SKUs generated according to the set sequence and configuration, including the number of words and letters. This applies to both products and product variants, which are generated based on your selected format and configured word/letter settings.

Now, change the product name from "Premium Coffee Grinder Stainless Steel" to "Premium juice Grinder and remove category. Since the “On Update” option is enabled, the SKU is updated automatically.

You can generate multiple SKUs for products and product variants. By selecting a product or variant, you will see the “Generate SKU” button. Clicking this button will generate SKUs for the selected products or variants.

You can find the values in the selection based on the enabled configuration. After enabling a configuration, you need to save, and then the corresponding values will appear in the dropdown.if all configurations are disabled, the product name and product id will be used as the default format for SKU generation.
