Overview

POS Screen Button Control

    This configuration allows you to control what actions a Point of Sale (POS) user can perform in the Odoo system.
    By enabling or disabling specific access rights, you can manage how users interact with customers, payments, orders, refunds, and numpad functions.
    This helps maintain security, accuracy, and proper handling of POS operations based on user roles.


KEY HIGHLIGHTS

Customer and Order Management

Controls whether the user can select or create customers, delete draft orders, and cancel ongoing orders.

Editable Transaction Inputs

Manages access to numpad functions, allowing users to modify discounts, prices, quantities, and numeric values as per configuration.

Live Data Access

Payment and Refund Control

Defines whether the user can access the payment screen, process completed-order refunds, and adjust refund quantities when required.

Custom Query Filters

Numpad Visibility and Action Permissions

Shows or hides the numpad and its action buttons (Discount, Price, Qty, +/-, Remove) based on user access.

Configuration

Install the Module

  • Go to Settings --> Point of Sale.
    Here you can configure different POS user access rights for each user and each POS session.

    • POS Access Rights

    1. Enable Customer Selection

  • When enabled : the user can select an existing customer and also create a new customer.

  • When disabled : The user cannot select any customer and cannot create a new customer. Orders must be processed without customer assignment.

    • 2. Enable Payment Button

  • When enabled : the user can proceed to the payment screen and complete POS orders.

  • When disabled: The user cannot open the payment screen and cannot complete POS orders.

    • 3. POs Delete order

  • When enabled : the user can delete orders that are not completed and can also cancel an ongoing order.

  • When disabled : The user cannot delete or cancel any order, including ongoing orders.

    • 4 Enable Refund Button

  • When enabled : the user can start the refund process for completed orders. Additional configuration for editing quantities during refund will also become visible
    • 4.1 Enabled Refund Qty Button
  • When enabled : the user can modify the quantity while processing a refund.

    • 5. Enable Numpad

  • When enabled : the numpad becomes visible on the POS screen. All related numpad buttons (Discount, Price, Qty, etc.) will also become available based on their configuration.
  • When disabled : The numpad is hidden. All numpad-related buttons (Discount, Price, Qty, etc.) remain inaccessible regardless of their individual configuration.
  • Enable Discount Button
    When enabled : the “Discount” option appears on the numpad and the user can apply a discount percentage.
  • Enable Plus/Minus Button
    - When enabled, the “+/-” button appears on the numpad, allowing the user to change numeric values.
  • Enable Price Button
    - When enabled, the “Price” button appears on the numpad, and the user can change the product price.
  • Enable Qty Button
    When enabled, the “Qty” button appears on the numpad, allowing the user to change item quantities.
  • Enable Remove Line Button
    When enabled, the “Remove” button appears on the numpad, allowing the user to remove an order line.
    This option is also automatically enabled when any of the following are enabled: Price, Quantity, or Discount.
