Overview
Location wise Stock Display in POS
This Odoo app allows sellers to view and manage stock in the Point of Sale (POS) interface. They can choose to display "Quantity on Hand". Additionally, users can view stock from all or specific locations in the POS. The total number of items in the cart is automatically calculated and displayed on the POS receipt. Stock is synchronized automatically when orders are placed in the Odoo POS inventory management app.

Configuration
- Install the Custom Module: Begin by installing the custom module in your Odoo instance.
Enable Real-Time Inventory Management:
- General Settings -> Scroll down -> Developer tool -> Active the developer mode
- Navigate to Settings > Point of Sale > Inventory.
- Select the In real-time (accurate but slower) option under inventory management.
- This ensures stock quantities are updated immediately when products are sold.
Activate the “Stock Visibility” Feature:
- To see available stock in POS screen, Go to Point of Sale Module -> Select your POS -> click the vertical ellipsis button (⋮) on a POS card and click Edit.
- Enable the Stock Visibility option. Once this setting is set; Odoo will showcase the available stock quantities across all warehouses.
Stock Location Configuration
- Our custom solution also includes functionality to showcase the quantity of a selected location. To use this feature, select the current session warehouse, and an additional menu will be displayed, as shown below.
- From this menu, select the location from which you want the quantity to be displayed now click on save.
- Once the Show Stock Qty option is enabled, the system will automatically fetch stock data location-wise based on POS operations.
- As shown in the interface, on-hand stock quantities by location will now be visible in the Point of Sale.
Automatic Synchronize Stock in Multi-System Environments:
- If the same POS session is open on multiple systems, users do not need to click on sync.
- This configuration ensures accurate, real-time stock visibility and smooth operation across multiple systems.
Minimum stock quantity management :
- We have added new functionality to manage your product's minimum stock quantity.
- The system will not allow you to sell a product if the configured quantity is less than the real-time stock quantity.
- Now, when a user attempts to sell a product with a quantity below 3, Odoo will prevent the transaction and display an error message.
Lot/Serial Number Selection :
- We have added a new functionality to select lot/serial numbers from the list.
Lot/Serial Number restriction :
- If a user tries to create a Lot/Serial number manually from the point of sale, the system will show an error “Some of the entered lot/serial number(s) are invalid.”
- If a user tries to create a Sale Order without selecting the Lot/Serial number, the system will show an error “Please select at least one valid lot/serial number.”
- The restricted quantity rule and functionality will also apply to the lot number functionality.
- This means that if a lot has a quantity below the restricted order limit, the system will not allow it to be added to the cart.
