Workshop Repair Checklist
Post-repair sign-off for workshop repair orders, driven by equipment calibration points
When a technician completes a workshop repair, there is often a set of verification steps that must be performed before the equipment can be returned to the client. This module adds a structured post-repair checklist to workshop repair orders, driven by the same calibration points already configured against your equipment categories — no duplicate setup required.
The checklist follows the same workflow pattern and uses the same data capture types as the compliance inspection framework: pass/fail checks, numeric readings with tolerance validation, photo capture, and instruction acknowledgement. A completion guard prevents a repair from being marked as done while required checklist items remain outstanding.
Key Features
Calibration Point Driven
Checklist items are loaded directly from the calibration points configured against the equipment category. One click populates the checklist from the equipment selected on the repair order. There is no separate checklist template to maintain.
Full Data Type Support
Checklist lines support the same five data types as compliance inspections: integer readings, decimal readings with min/max tolerance, pass/fail boolean checks, photo capture, and instruction acknowledgement — each with automatic pass/fail status evaluation.
Completion Guard
Once a checklist is loaded against a repair order, all required items must be completed before the repair can be marked as done. The system raises a clear error if the technician attempts to close the repair with outstanding items.
Consistent Workflow
The checklist follows the same Load, Start, Complete pattern as the compliance inspection framework. Status and result are tracked and visible at a glance. The checklist can only be edited while in progress and is locked once completed or failed.
PDF Checklist Report
A printable post-repair checklist report is available from the repair order once the checklist is complete. The report includes equipment details, all checklist line results with pass/fail indicators, any captured photos, and the technician signature.
Technician Signature
A dedicated signature panel allows the technician to sign off the completed checklist directly on the repair order. The signature is included in the printed PDF report.
How It Works
When a repair order is raised against a piece of client equipment, the technician clicks Load Checklist to populate the checklist from the calibration points defined for that equipment's category. The checklist is then started, worked through item by item, and completed before the repair can be closed.
If the equipment has no calibration points configured against its category, the checklist button does not appear and the module has no impact on the repair order workflow. The checklist is entirely optional — it only becomes active when calibration points exist and the technician explicitly loads them.
Requirements
This module requires the following Cyder Solutions modules to be installed:
- Client Equipment Workshop Repairs (cs_client_equipment_repair)
- Client Equipment Inspections (cs_client_equipment_inspections)
The dependency on the inspections module is required because checklist items reference the equipment calibration point records defined within that module.
