POS Dynamic Discount (Percentage & Amount Based Discounts in POS)
Enhance your Odoo Point of Sale with powerful and flexible discount management tools. This module allows POS users to apply global discounts - either as a percentage (%) or a fixed amount (â¹ / $) - directly from the POS interface, giving full control over sales promotions and price adjustments in real time.
Features
Dual Discount Modes - Percentage or Fixed Amount
This module empowers POS users to apply discounts in two flexible ways: as a percentage (%) of the total bill or as a fixed monetary amount. Whether your business prefers seasonal percentage discounts (like 10% off) or fixed-value promotions (like â¹100 off), the module handles both seamlessly.
Real-Time Discount Calculation and Display
Once a discount is applied, the system instantly updates the order total, taxes, and payable amount - no manual adjustments needed. The discount amount is clearly displayed on the POS screen and printed receipt, providing transparency for both the cashier and the customer.

2.) Accessing the Discount Option in POS
This screen shows how the cashier can quickly access the Discount feature within the POS interface. After adding products to the order, the user clicks on the Actions button at the bottom of the screen, which opens a pop-up menu of available operations.
3.) Select Discount Type (Percentage or Amount)
In this screen, the cashier is prompted to select the discount type after clicking on the Discount option. The system offers two choices - Percentage or Amount - giving full flexibility to apply discounts based on your promotional policy.
4.) Enter Discount Value (Percentage Input)
This screen displays the discount input interface, where the cashier enters the value of the discount to be applied. After selecting the discount type as Percentage, a numeric keypad pops up allowing the user to enter the exact percentage (for example, 10%).
5.) Discount Applied Successfully on POS Order
This screen shows the successful application of a discount on a POS order. After entering a 10% discount, the system automatically adds a Discount line item to the order summary, clearly displaying the deduction amount (in this case, -$150.00) and updates the total accordingly to $1,350.00.
6.) Payment Success with Discount Reflected on Receipt
This screen confirms that the payment has been successfully processed, and the applied discount is clearly displayed on the customer receipt.
7.) Select Discount Type: Amount
In this screen, users can choose to apply a discount based on a fixed monetary amount. By selecting the Amount option, the cashier or sales associate can specify an exact discount value to be deducted from the total price. This feature is ideal for applying precise, fixed-value discounts - such as $50 off promotions or flat-rate reductions - ensuring flexibility and full control over customized pricing strategies.
8.) Enter Discount Amount
Once the Amount option is selected, a numeric input keypad appears, allowing the user to specify the exact discount amount to be applied. This simple and intuitive interface minimizes errors by letting users enter precise values. Whether you are offering a $10 loyalty discount or a $500 bulk order reduction, this screen ensures the process is quick, transparent, and user-friendly.
9.) Discount Applied Successfully
After entering the discount, the system automatically calculates the new total and displays the updated order summary. The discount line item is clearly shown, reflecting the deducted amount for complete transparency. This confirmation screen helps the cashier verify the applied discount before finalizing payment, ensuring both accuracy and customer satisfaction.
