Costing Sheet Based Budget Creation with Flexible Grouping

This app enhances the Job Costing Budget Integration module by intelligently transferring job cost lines into analytic budget lines during budget creation. It allows budgets to be generated based on Job Type, Product, or Date. A new Budget Group Based On grouping of option lets you define how job cost lines should be grouped. Based on the selected option, the system automatically groups and creates budget lines accordingly, allowing you to clearly view and manage structured, grouped budget lines immediately after the budget is created.

Purpose of the Module

The purpose of this module is to streamline and improve the integration between Job Costing and Analytic Budgets by ensuring job cost lines are accurately and intelligently transferred into budget lines during budget creation.

Instead of manually reviewing and restructuring budget lines, this module allows users to generate budgets based on Job Type, Product, or Date, with automatic grouping applied according to the selected criteria.

This helps project and finance teams gain clear visibility into structured, grouped budget data immediately after budget creation, improving budgeting accuracy, traceability, and financial control.


Real-World Problem It Solves

In many job costing implementations, all job cost lines are pushed directly into budget lines without any logical grouping, making budgets difficult to analyze, manage, and validate.

This often results in cluttered budget lines, reduced clarity, and additional manual effort to reorganize data based on project requirements such as job type, product, or time period.

This module solves the problem by automatically grouping job cost lines during budget creation based on the selected option, and by adding reference fields such as Budget Group Based On and Job Cost Lines, ensuring transparency, traceability, and efficient budget management.
