1. Create Sale order flow
First, create a sample Sales Order and confirm it. You will see a delivery is generated; once the delivery is completed, create invoices to complete the full sales order process.
2. Delivery before cancel
The image depicts a successful product delivery.
3. Invoice before cancel
The invoice is currently in the "POSTED" stage.
4. Cancel Sale Order
The customer has now cancelled the sales order. To manage this in Odoo, click the Cancel button in the header.
5. Confirming the popup
After clicking the Cancel button, a popup will appearâsimply click OK.
6. Sale Order Cancelled
Now, youâll see that the sales order has been cancelled, and the status has changed to Cancelled. Additionally, two invoices are displayed, along with a 'Set to Quotation' button, which you can use to convert it back into a quotation.
7. Delivery After Cancel Sale Order
After cancelling the Sale Order, the delivery is automatically cancelled as well.
8. Invoice After Cancellation
If the sales order is cancelled, the invoices are also cancelled. You will see two invoices,one reversed with a corresponding journal entry posted, as shown in the image.
9. Effect of Cancelling a Sales Order
When you open the invoice, the status Reversed is displayed on a red ribbon. Additionally, canceling the sales order also automatically cancels the delivery.
10. Journal Entry
After cancellation, a journal entry is created for the reversed invoice. The reversed invoice number will start with the prefix RINV.
11. Customer Screen
This page allows the customer to view the status of the quotation, delivery, and invoice after the sales order has been cancelled.
