Jira connector
A powerful, bidirectional synchronisation bridge between Odoo and Jira that keeps projects, tasks, timesheets, and comments perfectly aligned across both platforms. Built on Jira's REST API v3 with secure API Token authentication, it supports full import and selective export workflows — including auto-deletion propagation, issue priority and type mapping, sprint field sync, and a complete activity log dashboard.
Highlighted Features
True Bidirectional Synchronisation
Projects, tasks, comments, and timesheets flow seamlessly in both directions between Odoo and Jira. Users can import everything from Jira into Odoo via a guided wizard, or export selected Odoo projects and tasks back to Jira — keeping both platforms perpetually aligned without manual duplication.
Timesheet & Worklog Sync
Odoo timesheets are exported to Jira as worklogs, and Jira worklogs are imported back into Odoo's hr_timesheet module with employee mapping, hours conversion, and duplicate prevention. Teams log time in either tool and see it reflected instantly on both sides, maintaining accurate project billing and reporting.
Smart Delete Propagation with Audit Log
When a project or task is deleted from Odoo, the connector automatically archives or deletes the corresponding Jira issue — eliminating ghost data across both platforms. Every deletion is optionally logged as a timestamped Delete Alert, and admins can toggle this behaviour per configuration for full operational control.
Rich Issue Field Mapping
Every Jira issue field is faithfully mapped into Odoo — including Priority (High/Medium), Issue Type (Bug, Story, Task, Epic mapped as Odoo tags), Sprint name, due dates, assignees, and attachments. Configurable per connection, these mappings ensure no critical project metadata is lost during synchronisation between the two platforms.
Detailed Features
Two-Way Comment Sync with Duplicate Prevention
Jira issue comments are imported directly into the Odoo task chatter, preserving the original author name and comment ID. Odoo chatter messages are simultaneously pushed back to Jira as formatted ADF comments. A built-in duplicate check on both sides ensures no comment ever appears twice, regardless of how many times a sync runs.
Guided Import & Export Wizards with Selective Control
Two dedicated wizards — Import and Export — give users checkbox-level control over exactly what gets synchronised. The Import Wizard covers Users, Projects, Issues, Comments, and Timesheets independently. The Export Wizard lets users hand-pick specific projects and optionally push all unsynced timesheets to Jira worklogs, giving teams precise control without triggering unwanted bulk operations.
Flexible Project Creation with Jira Template Support
When exporting an Odoo project to Jira, the connector automatically generates a unique Jira project key and supports both Software (Scrum/Kanban board) and Business (Work Management) project types via configurable template keys. Project lead assignment is resolved by matching the Odoo project manager to their Jira accountId, ensuring proper ownership is set from day one.
