Direct User
Login
Securely log in as another user directly from the Odoo backend using controlled access and permission-based rules.
Key
Features
Login As User
Log in as another user directly from the system tray without requiring the user's password.
Role-Based Access
Access is controlled using Admin and User roles to ensure secure and restricted login permissions.
Allowed Users Control
Define a list of allowed users that a specific user can log in as.
Admin Privileges
Admin users can log in as any user if no restrictions are defined.
Safe & Controlled
If no users are assigned and the user is not an admin, login access is automatically blocked.
Backend Integration
Fully integrated with Odoo backend UI and user preference screens.
How It
Works
Step 1: Configure Direct Login
Enable Direct Login from the user form and assign the appropriate role (Admin or User).
Step 2: Configure Allowed Users
Users with the Admin role can log in as any user without defining a specific user list under the Allowed Users tab.
Step 3: Login As Icon in System Tray
Once Direct Login is enabled, the Login As icon appears in the system tray for authorized users.
Administrators can view the complete user list and connect to any user without restrictions.
Click the Login As icon to open the user list and log in as another user.
After clicking Connect, the system instantly switches the session to the selected user.
Step 4: User-Level Direct Login Configuration
For users with the User role, direct login access is restricted. Only the users explicitly added in the Allowed Users list can be accessed. If no users are assigned, direct login will be blocked and a warning message will be shown.
Step 4: User-Based Direct Login Flow
Users with the User role have restricted access and can log in only as users listed in the Allowed Users section.
Selecting an allowed user and clicking Connect immediately switches the session and logs in as the selected user across backend and website.
