The Location & IP-Based Website Access Restriction module enhances the security and access management of your Odoo website by restricting visitor access based on their geographical location and IP address. Using IP-based geolocation detection, the module automatically identifies a visitor’s country, state/region, and IP address in real time.
Administrators can configure rules to block website access for visitors from specific countries, states, or individual IP addresses according to business policies or compliance requirements. When a visitor falls under a restricted rule, the system automatically prevents access and displays a customizable message informing the visitor that the website is not available in their location.
This module helps businesses improve website security, enforce region-based access policies, and ensure compliance with geographic restrictions while maintaining full control over who can access the website.

01 Go to Settings → Website Configuration → Location Restriction, then add the countries you want to restrict and save the settings in Odoo.
02 When visitor’s geolocation is detected as a restricted country (e.g., India), the system automatically displays the message Access denied. You are not authorized to access this website from your location.
03 You can configure the blocked access message from Settings → Website Configuration → Location Restriction.
04 From Settings → Website Configuration → Location Restriction, you can add restricted states (e.g., Gujarat) so visitors from that region cannot access the website in Odoo.
05 Go to Website → Reporting → Blocked IPs to view and manage restricted IP addresses in Odoo.
06 You can add specific IP addresses and define IP ranges to block unwanted or unauthorized visitors based on your network security rules.
