Yes, you can export Products from Odoo to Shopify as well as import Products from Shopify to Odoo. If the products are already present on Odoo as well as Shopify, you can establish a synchronization between them using the connector

The Shopify Odoo Connector lets connect as many Shopify stores as you want with a single Odoo Instance.

The connector synchronizes products by matching the Internal Reference field in Odoo with the SKU field in Shopify. It is mandatory to have a unique SKU or Internal Reference for a product.

The connector allows you to update price from Odoo to Shopify via a pricelist. You can set up a pricelist per Shopify instance in Odoo and update the price to Shopify via the pricelist. You also import the prices from Shopify to Odoo, however, the prices will get imported to the pricelist and not directly to the product.

The connector allows you to update stock from Odoo to Shopify either manually or automatically via a cron job. Stock levels get automatically adjusted in Odoo based on the imported orders. You can also import stock levels from Shopify to Odoo. The imported stock values will create an inventory adjustment entry in Odoo which upon validating will affect the actual stock levels. In the connector settings, you can choose one warehouse per Shopify Instance from which the stock is to be managed.

Any order on Shopify can be imported to Odoo if the connector has been configured correctly. The connector provides a configuration that lets you choose if you want to import only unfulfilled orders or fulfilled orders or both.

Yes. Your endpoint must be an HTTPS webhook address with a valid SSL certificate that can correctly process the event.

If you want to use Webhooks, you must enable the database filter. However, in the case of Odoo.sh, it is handled automatically.

Currently in use on my Shopify store. The version of the connector I have is '', categorized under 'Sales'.

I have recently encountered an error notification in the Shopify admin panel which states the following:

A developer needs to update your custom apps and/or admin webhooks

Some of your custom apps and/or admin webhook subscriptions may not work as expected because they are using deprecated API versions. Contact your developer to ensure your store doesn’t experience disruptions. If you can’t contact the original developer, you can hire a Shopify Partner.

This message is based on data from the last 14 days and may not reflect recently fixed apps and webhooks.

Many bugs and broken use-cases - far from ready
Amir Far
on 12/7/23, 4:33 PM

We bought this app over 6 months ago and tried to use it to facilitate our transition to Odoo. We have a few Shopify stores with thousands of products and many daily orders. We ran it to shadow our current inventory system to see if it can transfer orders and products from our Shopify stores to Odoo. The accounting portion was not tested.

We have given it all the chances by connecting it to live Shopify. Our team spent hours on video calls with several support reps that kept getting replaced. Even bought extended support and waited for them to fix bugs or add new features as we found issues.

Unfortunately we came to realize the connector is far from ready for productions. It is poorly designed from ground up without fully realizing how Shopify handles orders and products. Their fixes were patch works that should have been addressed when the app was designed. We kept finding scenarios that broke the business flow where the connector either never handles it or incorrectly applies it in Odoo.

For instance as the orders in Shopify go though various stages until they are closed and archived, these changes do not get synced with Odoo by the connector correctly or not at all.

Once the order comes in, the connector copies it to Odoo (in numerous cases it failed to do even that without giving us any reason or a way to address it leading to long support tickets). Once the order is paid, edited, returned, refunded, exchanged, cancelled, fulfilled, partially fulfilled etc these changes do not get transferred to Odoo and the support team has no answer for it. Anyone working with any inventory system knows how important each of those scenarios are to have accurate inventory.

They wanted us to manually duplicate some of these actions that were taken in Shopify in Odoo!!! We asked if we can do process orders in Odoo and the connector sends it to Shopify if that's easier for them, no luck. No can not return, cancel, exchange, refund, edit orders in Odoo and expect the changes to take place in Shopify.

There are many scenarios that are simply ignored when it comes to updating orders and keeping them in sync with Shopify. For example you can not edit any order in Shopify. Even if you replicate that manually in Odoo, that will cause problem when it comes to invoicing and deliveries later. Trust me we tried and asked them to give us guidelines without success.

Products syncs are another major issue. They get copied to Odoo by the connector but if you make any changes to a product either in Odoo or in Shopify the connector fails later when an order comes in for that product. You can't add any variant, remove any or even worse update barcodes or SKU.

This app is far from ready. You won't know all these issues unless you put it to use.  They are using customers to figure our the bugs for them. They try to patch it but this cause more issues for other parts. It's a mess.

They are using customers to figure our bugs for them.  Stay away.
