Installation

Install this module to enable the Whatsapp helpdesk customer support ticketing system feature for your business.

Configuration

WhatsApp Integration Setup

We are integrating a module of our Odoo system with WhatsApp using Meta for Developers. This platform will facilitate the connection and seamless integration between both systems.

  • WhatsApp Service Provider:
    Select the provider you are using for integration.
    Example: Meta

  • Meta Phone Number ID:
    Enter the Phone Number ID assigned by Meta. This is used to send and receive WhatsApp messages.
    Example: 103330236087682

  • Meta WhatsApp Business Account ID:
    Provide your registered WhatsApp Business Account ID.
    Example: 109457952133963

  • Meta API Token:
    Paste your WhatsApp API Access Token. This is required to authenticate your Odoo system with Meta.
    (Field will remain hidden for security.)

  • Meta Webhook Verify Token:
    Enter the token used to verify webhook communication between Meta and Odoo.
    Example: 1005

  • Send Message Through Template
    Enable this option if you want all outbound messages to be sent using pre-approved WhatsApp templates.

WhatsApp Integration Workflow

    1. Initiate Customer Issues or Inquiries

    • Once the connection is established, customers can initiate issues or inquiries about products or services of a business through WhatsApp chat.

    2. Store Conversations

    • The system will store conversations between the owner and customer.

    3. Dynamic Meta Template for Ticket Status Changes New

    • Send a Meta template text message depending on the state of the ticket.

      • Open any stage and add the WhatsApp template.

        Note: In the WhatsApp Template field, only templates that apply to the specific model will be shown.

      • WhatsApp templates can be triggered based on specific state changes.

    4. Stage Change Notification

    • After changing the stage of the ticket.

    5. Team Assignment via Keywords New

    • Assign a specific team based on WhatsApp message keywords.

      • If the keyword "billing" is used, the ticket will be assigned to the VIP Support team.



    6. Auto Survey on Ticket Closure New

    • Automatically sends a survey link to the user via WhatsApp when a ticket is closed.

1. Can I chat with customers in real time from Odoo?

Yes - when a customer messages via WhatsApp, a ticket is generated, and you can continue the conversation from within the ticket interface.

2. Does it support multiple WhatsApp numbers (for branches or teams)?

Currently, it supports only one source number.

3. Do I need a WhatsApp API account?

Yes, this module works with a WhatsApp Meta API (i.e. you need to connect via a WhatsApp business API).

4. Can I trigger WhatsApp messages based on ticket status or stage changes?

Yes. You can set WhatsApp templates on specific helpdesk stages so that when a ticket is moved to that stage, the template message is automatically sent.

5. Can I use parameterized templates (with dynamic fields)?

Yes — the module supports parameterized templates, allowing you to map Odoo fields into the template (including dot-notation for relational fields).
