The purpose of this module is to bridge the gap between job order / work order execution and sustainable waste management. By leveraging direct inputs on the job order / work order form, it enables project teams to designate waste materials for either reuse or scrap. This ensures accountability, material tracking, and efficiency in handling unused or discarded materials, while also helping you assess your waste management practices through detailed analysis reports.

The Waste Management in Construction Projects application extends Odoo's job contracting capabilities by integrating material tracking and waste disposition into a single, automated workflow.

Users can navigate to the "Waste Materials" tab within a Job Order / Work Order to meticulously log discarded or reusable items generated on-site. By clicking the highlighted "Create" button next to each line, the system automatically processes the record based on the selected waste method (Reuse or Scrap).

Access Scraps and Waste Pickings via Smart Buttons

Once waste operations are generated, users can easily monitor them directly from the Job Order / Work Order form. Dedicated smart buttons located at the top right "Scraps" and "Waste Picking" provide instant access to all related waste inventory records.

List View of Job Order / Work Order Scrap Records

Clicking the "Scraps" smart button redirects the user to a consolidated list view. This screen displays all draft and completed scrap orders linked to the current Job Order / Work Order, providing a quick overview of scrapped products, quantities, and their destination locations.

Scrap Order Form - Source Tracking Details

Opening a specific scrap order reveals detailed tracking information. The form automatically captures and displays the originating "Waste Material" reference number and links back to the source "Job Order / Work Order" ensuring accurate and transparent traceability.

Scrap Order Details for Various Materials

The system efficiently handles multiple scrap items generated from the same job. For example, a scrap order for Binding Wire maintains consistent tracking by logging the corresponding Waste Material ID and Job Order / Work Order directly on the form.

Consistent Scrap Accountability

Similar to other scrap entries, records for items like Concrete Blocks are automatically populated with the correct quantities and linked seamlessly to their parent Job Order / Work Order, preventing manual entry errors and maintaining full accountability.

Navigate to Waste Pickings (Transfers)

To view materials that have been designated for "Reuse," users can simply click the "Waste Picking" smart button located at the top of the Job Order / Work Order form. This action filters and retrieves all internal transfers generated for reusable waste.

The system redirects to a comprehensive list view displaying all waste picking transfers associated with the project. This allows logistics and site managers to easily track the movement of reusable materials from the job site back to the reusable yard.

Waste Picking Transfer - Operations and Additional Information

Within a specific waste picking transfer record, users have full visibility into both the material details and project traceability. By navigating to the "Operations" tab, users can review the exact reusable products and demanded quantities (e.g., tons of crushed aggregate) scheduled for movement.

Furthermore, switching to the "Additional Info" tab provides crucial tracking links, clearly highlighting the originating "Waste Material" record and the linked "Job Order / Work Order" to ensure complete accountability for the reusable items.

Detailed Tracking and Operations for Internal Transfers

Regardless of the specific project, every generated waste picking record maintains strict traceability and operational clarity. By navigating to the "Operations" tab, users can review the specific reusable products, such as formwork timber, and their demanded quantities scheduled for transfer.

Furthermore, the "Additional Info" tab consistently records the exact originating "Waste Material" ID and linked "Job Order / Work Order" sources to ensure full inventory accountability.

Access a centralized list of all logged waste entries and group them by project for a structured overview of products, quantities, and tracking links per construction site.
