Sales Order Population
Turn a confirmed quotation into a ready-to-run, billable project in one step. Tick a box on the quotation and Odoo generates the project, the billing periods and the task structure for you — so consultants can start logging time immediately and each period bills cleanly.

What it does
- Tick Create Project on a quotation to create a billable, timesheet-enabled project linked back to the order.
- Set the number of project periods to bill in stages. Period 1 is the confirmed order; each further period is a dated draft copy of the quote that you confirm one at a time.
- Each period gets its own "Period N" container task, and the tasks generated from service lines are nested underneath it with the period's dates.
- Tasks are mapped to the matching sales order line by the responsible employee, keeping billing accurate per consultant.
Who it's for
Services and consulting teams that sell staged or recurring engagements and want the delivery project — periods, tasks and timesheet setup — built automatically from the sales order.
Dependencies
Project, Sales (project & timesheet), plus the ETS Portal Timesheet and Sale Vendor Selection modules for the per-consultant employee link.
Configuration
No setup required. On a quotation, tick Create Project, set **Project Period(s)**, and confirm.
Good to know
- Period copies are drafts you confirm deliberately; generating one never re-triggers project creation.
- Installation is safe on any database — the one-time setup step only runs where it applies and does nothing otherwise.
