Real-time duplicates search
Duplicates are shown on kanban, tree, and form views. Using the special button you can open candidates to check whether those are actual duplicates. Besides, users may select possible copies by applying the filter 'Potential Duplicates'.
Since the search is done in real-time Odoo has to check all shown records for duplicates among all existing records. For example, when you open opportunities' kanban with 80 items, and you have 10,000 leads, the tool make 80 searches by your criteria among 10000 documents. It may result in slowdowns of the following operations:
- Opening kanban and list views of customers and opportunities
- Saving changes after update of partners and opportunities
The tool is optimized to make searches as efficient as Odoo ORM allows it. Simultaneously, with a growing number of documents a search will become slower.

Configurable duplicates' criteria
As a duplicate criteria use any stored field of the following types: char (name, email, phone, mobile, etc.), text (descriptions), many2one (reference for a parent company or a related customer), selection (for instance, type), date and datetime (e.g. birthday), integer and float (any unique code or even planned revenue).
For all field a duplicate should have absolutely the same value (e.g. '123' = '123', but '123' is not equal '1234'). Only for the case of soft search by char fields it is the operator 'ilike'. Thus, 'agro' is considered to be a potential duplicate of 'Agrolait' (but Agrolait is not considered as a duplicate of 'agro').
For partners' duplicates you may restrict search only for companies and stand-alone individuals. If the option is checked, Odoo will search only for and only among partners without parent.

Use soft criteria to warn salespersons of possible duplicates but not restrict them in such duplicates creation. An instance access to potential duplicates is available from form and kanban views.

According to the current Odoo Apps Store policies:
- every module bought for the version 12.0 and prior gives you an access to the all versions up to 12.0.
- starting from the version 13.0, every version of the module should be purchased separately.
- disregarding the version, purchasing a tool grants you a right for all updates and bug fixes within a major version.
Take into account that faOtools team does not control those policies. By all questions please contact the Odoo Apps Store representatives directly.
The easiest approach is to use the Odoo store built-in workflow:
1. Open the module's page and click the button Deploy on odoo.sh
2. After that, you will be redirected to the GitHub page. Login to your account and click 'Create a new repo' or use the existing one. Please, make sure, that your repository is private. It is not permitted to publish the apps under the OPL-1 license. If necessary, create a new repo for your Odoo.sh project
3. Then, go to odoo.sh and click on the deploy button, submit the decision in the pop-up window and click 'Continue'. The action will trigger the installation process.
These steps would install the app for your project production branch. If you wanted to deploy the apps for other branches or update the module, you should undertake the following actions:
1. Upload the source code for the app from the Odoo store
2. Commit the module to a required GitHub repository. Make sure that none of the app folders/files are ignored (included in the .gitignore of your repo). Repositories are automatically created by odoo.sh, which might add by default some crucial items there (e.g. /lib). You should upload all module directories, subdirectories, and files without exceptions
3. Deploy a target branch of the odoo.sh project or wait until it is automatically built if your settings assume that.
Unzip the source code of the purchased tools in one of your Odoo add-ons' directory
Re-start the Odoo server
Turn on the developer mode (technical settings)
Update the apps' list (the apps' menu)
Find the app and push the button 'Install'
Follow the guidelines on the app's page if those exist.
Yes, sure. Take into account that Odoo automatically adds all dependencies to a cart. You should exclude previously purchased tools.
A red/orange warning itself does not influence features of the app. Regretfully, sometimes our modules do not pass standard automatic tests, since the latter assumes behavior which is in conflict with our apps goals. For example, we change price calculation, while standard Odoo module tests compare final price to standard algorithm.
So, first of all, please check deployed database features. Does everything work correctly?

Yes, all modules marked in dependencies are absolutely required for a correct work of our tool. Take into account that price marked on the app page already includes all necessary dependencies.
The price for our modules is set up in euros. The Odoo store converts prices in others currencies according to its internal exchange rate. Thus, the price in US Dollars may change, when exchange rate changes.

Good idea - could be better programmed
In common it is - for me - not worth the money. It slows down Odoo if implemented. There is no possibility to decide between contacts and companies. I would deduplicate only companies and I get all contacts displayed as possible duplicates.

Hello Philippe, the module would work in case of import in the following way: 1. In case of rigid duplicates, Odoo would throw an error and would stop import 2. In case of soft duplicates, Odoo would import all lines, but afterwards you would be able to find duplicates by indicative buttons and filters. Does your module also check when we use the import functionality of the system? like importing contacts and importing leads?

Hello Mr. Bergman, as promised we added the feature of searching partners' duplicates only for and among companies and stand-alone individuals (partners without a parent). Besides, we have optimized the module to the extent it is reasonably possible to do. To apply changes: just get the most recent code from the store. Hello, we are sorry that you had bad experience with our tool. But does it really worth 2 (!) stars killing rating? The app does everything included into the description. By your comments: (1) minor slowdowns (1 second?) are the price for real time search and filtering. How is it possible to do that differently? (2) contacts / companies: this feature is never mentioned, but we would anyway include it in our to-do list, it would be implemented within a week We anyway apologize that our tool doesn’t suit your expectations
