Partner Ledger Folded

The Partner Ledger Folded module for Odoo adds a powerful visual control to your accounting reports by introducing the fold feature for each partner line directly in the PDF and XLSX reports of the Partner Ledger. This provides a cleaner, more manageable layout especially when exporting large ledgers with many partners records.

1. Partner ledger.

As you can see, before installing our Partner Ledger Folded module, only these buttons are available.

2. Partner Ledger Folded Module.

Now, Activate the Partner Ledger Folded module.

3. Partner Ledger with Folded Button.

After installing the Partner Ledger Folded module, two additional buttons will become visible.

4. Base PDF Button.

Now, click on the Base PDF button, and you will see that one section of the data is folded while the other is unfolded.

5. Generated PDF Report.

Once you click on the Base PDF button, you will see that the one section data is folded and one section data is expanded (unfolded) in the PDF.

6. Fold PDF Button.

Now, click on the Fold PDF button, and you will see that one part of the data is folded while the other remains unfolded.

7. Generated Fold PDF Report.

Clicking the Fold PDF button will fold all the data in the PDF, unlike the base version which shows the data unfolded.

8. Base XLSX Button.

Now click on this base xlsx button, and you can see that one section of data is folded and one section of data is unfolded data.

9. Generated XLSX Report.

Clicking the Base XLSX button will display the data in an expanded (unfolded) format within the XLSX file.

10. Fold XLSX Button.

Now click on this fold xlsx button, and you can see that one section of the data is folded and one section of the data is unfolded.

11. Generated Fold XLSX Report

Once you click on the Fold XLSX button, unlike the base version where data is expanded (unfolded), you will now see that not all the data is visible in the XLSX file.

12. Base PDF Button.

Now, click on the Base PDF button, and you will see that all the data is unfolded.

13. Generated PDF Report.

Once you click on the Base PDF button, you will see that the data is expanded (unfolded) in the PDF.

14. Fold PDF Button.

Now click on this fold pdf button, and you can see that all sections data is unfolded.

15. Generated Fold PDF Report.

Clicking the Fold PDF button will fold all the data in the PDF, unlike the base version which shows the data unfolded.

16. Base XLSX Button.

Now click on this base xlsx button, and you can see that all section of data is unfolded.

17. Generated XLSX Report.

Once you click on the Base XLSX button, you will see that the data is expanded (unfolded) in the XLSX file.

18. Fold XLSX Button.

Now click on this fold xlsx button, and you can see that all section of data is unfolded.

19. Generated Fold XLSX Report

Once you click on the Fold XLSX button, unlike the base version where data is expanded (unfolded), you will now see that not all data is visible in the XLSX file.

What does the Partner Ledger Folded module do?

This module give you new exported Partner Ledger reports (Fold PDF and XLSX) so that all partner lines are shown in a folded view. It hides individual journal entry lines, providing a cleaner and more compact layout.

Does unfolding a partner in the Odoo UI affect the exported report?

No. Whether a partner is folded or unfolded in the Odoo interface, the exported report will always show the folded version.

Can I view detailed journal entries in the exported report?

Yes, you can see the detailed journal entries in the exported report by using base pdf and xlsx button.

What are the benefits of always using the folded format?

  • Makes large reports (with many partners) easier to read.
  • Helps in creating cleaner and more professional reports for printing or auditing.
  • Improves performance when exporting large datasets.

    • Can I customize it to allow unfolding certain partners?

    Yes, you can do this using the button provided by Odoo. Our module forces all partners to be folded in the export. However, if you need selective unfolding or more control over the data, you can use the Base PDF and XLSX buttons.
