POS Session Close & Journal Entry Posting extends Odoo's Point of Sale
functionality by allowing
users to close POS sessions and post related journal entries directly from the backend
without accessing the POS interface. This streamlines session management for businesses
operating multiple shops or POS terminals, reducing the time and effort required to process
daily closing operations.
The module provides a centralized and efficient way to manage POS session closures, helping
accounting and operations teams complete financial posting tasks quickly while maintaining
standard Odoo accounting workflows and accuracy.

Close Session and POST entries Button
Once you install the POS Close Session From Backend app go to Point of Sale > Orders > Sessions and open the session which you want to close.The session is currently in the "IN PROGRESS" stage. You will notice a button "Close session and post entries" on the session form view.Click on the Button to close the current session & post journal entries.

When you click on the "Close session and post journal entry button" a pop window will open where all details like total orders, Amount, payment methods will display regarding the session, check everything and click on close session
After Close the session
When you close the session, it moves to the "Close & Posted" stage, confirming that the session has been successfully closed, and the journal entry has been recorded.
Journal Entry
To confirm a journal entry, follow these steps: Go to the "Accounting > accounting > journal entry.In the search bar, enter the POS order number as the reference number (e.g., POS00014). You will then be able to view the journal entries related to closed sessions. You can also refer to the image for a visual guide. This process allows you to easily access and review journal entries associated with closed sessions by searching for them using the POS order number as a reference.
