Advanced Inventory Backdate Control
This module allows authorized users to backdate done stock transfers (pickings and stock moves) and automatically records critical audit information such as the original completion date, the user who performed the backdate, and the reason for the change. This ensures transparency, traceability, and compliance with internal controls or audit requirements.
Backdate completed stock transfers while keeping original dates intact and ensuring user accountability with audit traceability.

OR
- Allows authorized users to backdate completed (Done) stock transfers safely and consistently.
- Automatically stores the original completion date of stock pickings and stock moves and prevents it from being overwritten.
- Records the user who performed the backdate operation for clear responsibility and traceability.
- Requires and stores a reason for each backdate, ensuring transparency and audit readiness.
- Backdate multiple completed stock transfers at once using a flexible domain filter or selected records.
- All audit information is stored in readonly fields, ensuring data integrity and compliance.
- Restricts backdating functionality to authorized users only.
1. User Access Configuration
After activating the module, you must configure the appropriate user access rights. Assign the Inventory Backdate Manager group to users who need visibility into backdate audit information, including the original completion date, the user who performed the backdate, and the reason for the change.
To do this, go to Settings > Users & Companies > Users, select the user you want to grant access to, and assign the Inventory Backdate Manager group. In this example, the group is assigned to the Mitchell (Admin) user.
2. Accessing the Mass Backdate Configuration
After activating the module, navigate to Inventory > Configuration. At the bottom of the page, you will find the Mass Backdate menu, which provides access to the backdating functionality.
3. Using the Mass Backdate Wizard
Open the Mass Backdate menu to launch the wizard. Here, enter the New Date to apply as the backdate and provide a mandatory Reason for Backdate for audit purposes.
Optionally, enable Recalculate Inventory Valuation to update journal entry dates linked to the affected stock moves. You can also use the Domain Filter to select specific stock pickings for backdating.
Once all details are set, click Apply Mass Backdate to complete the action.
4. Backdate Confirmation Notification
After clicking Apply Mass Backdate, the system displays a confirmation popup indicating whether the operation was successful and showing how many stock transfers were backdated.
5. No Matching Transfers Notification
If no stock transfers match the entered domain, the system displays a popup notification indicating that no eligible transfers were found, as shown in the image.
6. Verifying Backdated Records
Now navigate to the stock transfers that match the domain defined in the wizard and open any Receipt (or transfer) in form view.
Here, you can see the Original Date Done, Backdated By, and Backdate Reason fields populated for audit tracking. The Effective Date is updated according to the date entered in the wizard, and the related Stock Move dates are also successfully changed, as shown in the image.
7. Verification in Detailed Operations
In addition, when you open the Detailed Operations (Stock Move Lines) form view, you can see that the Date has also been successfully updated to the backdated value, as shown in the image.
