POS Partial Gift Card Redemption extends Odoo Point of Sale by allowing customers to redeem
only a portion of their gift card balance during a purchase. Instead of requiring the entire
gift card balance to be used in a single transaction, the module lets customers choose the
amount they wish to redeem while automatically preserving the remaining balance for future
purchases.
When a gift card is entered during checkout, the system displays the available balance and
allows the cashier or customer to specify the redemption amount. The remaining balance is
updated automatically after payment, ensuring accurate gift card management without manual
calculations.
The module also includes built-in validations to prevent customers from redeeming more than
their available balance. If an invalid amount is entered, the system displays an appropriate
warning, helping maintain accurate transactions and preventing payment errors.

Create gift code
To create gift Code follow the step of base,
go to POS -> Product -> gift cards & eWallets
Fill required details and click on Generate Gift Cards,
You can see all generated gift cards in the right above
Gift Code Generate
Once you click "Generate Gift Card", a pop-up window will appear where you can configure the partner, generate a gift card code, specify the amount, and set the expiration date.

Once you click on 'Gift Card' Smart Button. Here, you can see all generated gift cards.
Gift Card Balance - Before Redeem
Now open any gift card, you can see in the image that the total balance of this gift card is 50 now.
Enter Redeem Code
Now open the POS session, as you can see in the image that the total
amount of order is $54.05 before applying gift code, now click on
Enter code to enter gift code.
Now, Enter gift code.
Redeem Amount
After entering the code, a pop-up window will appear with code details, here you may select how many points/amount you wish to redeem, after entering the amount, click the redeem button.

You can see that the Gift card has been added and the total amount has been reduced from $54.05 to $44.04 after applying the gift code.
Payment Screen
Here customer will pay only $44.04 after using gift card.
Balance After Redeem
After redeeming $10, the remaining balance has now been updated to $40. This provides a clear indication of the remaining amount on the gift card.
Redeem Greater Amount
That's an important point to consider. When users try to redeem an amount greater than the available balance on their gift card, it should indeed trigger an error message to notify them of the insufficient balance. This ensures that users are aware of the limit and can adjust their redemption amount accordingly.

As shown here, if you enter an amount greater than the available balance, the following validation error message will be displayed.

Gift cards have a predefined monetary value. When you make a purchase, the amount is deducted from the card's balance until it's empty. You can use the gift card until the balance reaches zero.
