1. Location Configuration
To access the location we have to First enable Storage location from Inventory → configuration → setting → storage location.
2. Multi-Location On-Hand Quantity Visibility in POS
Navigate to any product and click on the On Hand quantity smart button. As
shown in the image, the product has been stocked in two different inventory
locations, each with a different quantity.
These location-wise quantities are accurately reflected in the Point of Sale
(POS), ensuring that stock availability is displayed exactly as configured
in the inventory.
3. Stock Indicator Icon in POS Order Line
Open the Point of Sale, start a new session, and select the product that was
previously configured with stock in multiple locations.
After adding the product to the cart, you will notice a small indicator icon
displayed on the POS order line. This icon signifies that the product has
stock distributed across multiple inventory locations, providing clear
visibility of its availability directly within the POS interface.
4. Location-Wise Stock View from Popup
Once clicked that icon, a detailed view will appear displaying the available inventory quantities, including the stock available in different locations and the quantity available for POS, as illustrated in the image. This allows the cashier to quickly verify real-time stock availability directly from the POS screen.
5. Selecting and Removing Stock Allocation in POS
After selecting the required stock from the available list in POS, the allocation will be displayed in the order line as shown in the attached image. This clearly indicates the chosen inventory location and the allocated quantity. If needed, you can easily remove the selected stock allocation by clicking on the cancel icon. This will clear the selection and allow you to reassign stock as required.
6. Location Details in POS Orders
After completing the order, navigate to Point of Sale > Orders >
Orders and
open the respective order.
In the order form, you will see that the inventory location is displayed on
each POS order line. This clearly indicates from which specific location the
product was taken, ensuring full traceability and accurate stock tracking
across multiple locations.
7. Source Location Reflected in Picking
After opening the POS order, navigate to its related Delivery / Picking record. In the picking document, you can clearly see the Source Location mentioned for each product line. This confirms that the stock has been deducted from the exact inventory location selected during the POS transaction, ensuring accurate stock movement and proper warehouse traceability.
