User Warehouse Access Control | Stock Location Restriction
User Warehouse Access Control | Stock Location Restriction is a powerful Odoo enhancement designed to give companies fine-grained control over how each user interacts with Inventory, Warehouse Operations, and Sale Orders. This module allows administrators to define per-user restrictions for warehouses, stock locations, picking types, and even the number of sale orders a user can view ensuring tighter operational security, reduced errors, and improved workflow discipline.
This module provides fine-grained warehouse and stock operation restrictions in Odoo. It allows administrators to define exactly which warehouses, stock locations, picking types, and sale orders each user can access or process.

1. Warehouses.
Ensure that you have multiple warehouses, and that warehouses are active.
2. Locations.
Here, you can see that we have created locations for both warehouses.
We have set up WH/Stock.Restricted A, WH/Stock.Restricted B, and WH2/Stock.Other locations.
WH/Stock.Restricted A and WH/Stock.Restricted B as allowed locations
for the restricted user, while WH2/Stock.Other will be a forbidden
location.
3. Restricted User.
Here, you can see that we have created an internal user and given them basic access rights so they can access Sales and Inventory.
4. Restricted User Configuration.
user -> Access Rights
Here, You can see we have configured :
Allowed Operations.
- Select Receipts (WH).
- Select Delivery Orders (WH).
- Do not include any WH2 picking types.
Allowed Warehouses.
- Select only WH.
- Leave WH2 unselected.
Sale Order List Limit.
- Set it 5 sale order limit.
And Enable :
- Restrict Warehouses
- Restrict Sales by Warehouse
- Restrict Stock Buttons
- Restrict SO Limit
5. Sale Order.
As you can see, we have created multiple sales orders. You can either confirm them or leave them as quotations. Among these orders, two were created for the WH2 warehouse, while the others belong to the WH warehouse.
6. Login - Restricted User.
After logging in as the restricted user, go to the Sales Orders and remove any default filters so that all records become visible. You will notice that only five records are shown. This is because we selected Restrict SO Limit and set the sales order limit to 5. Additionally, only sales orders from the WH warehouse are visible because we enabled Restrict Sales by Warehouse.
7. Restricted User - Receipt.
Here, you can see that in the Operation Type field, only the WH warehouses Receipt, Delivery, and Internal Transfer options are available.
8. Restricted User - Transfer.
Here, you can see that the restricted user is not able to create, edit, or delete records, and this is because we selected Restrict Stock Buttons.
9. User Configuration - Allowed Location.
Here you can see that we have configure Allowed Stock Locations :
Select WH/Stock.Restricted A.
Select WH/Stock.Restricted B.
Do not include WH2/Stock.Other or the default WH stock location.
10. Admin - Internal Transfer.
Here you can see that we have create picking from a forbidden location, for
example:
- From WH2/Stock.Other to any location, or
- From the default WH1 stock location to a location not in the users.
Leave the picking in Ready state.
11. Restricted User - Internal Transfer.
Log in as Restricted User, open the created picking, and attempt to validate it. You will receive a validation error.
12. Admin - Internal Transfer.
Here, you can see that we have created another picking where both the source and destination locations belong to the locations configured in the Allowed Stock Locations (WH/Stock.Restricted A and WH/Stock.Restricted B). Leave this picking in the Ready state.
13. Restricted User - Internal Transfer.
Here, you can see that the picking has not raised an error and has been validated successfully by the Restricted User.
